Kirinyaga County’s Proposed Budget Allots Ksh 275 Million for Advancement of Sagana Agro-Industrial Park

In the upcoming 2023/2024 budget, Kirinyaga County has designated Ksh 275 million for the development of the Sagana Agro-Industrial Park. Within this allocation, Ksh 250 million will be provided by Kirinyaga County as a conditional matching contribution, following a 50/50 arrangement with the National Government, which will also grant Ksh 250 million.

This funding is in accordance with the establishment of County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPS) across all counties, where a minimum of Ksh 500 million is required to commence the projects.

An additional Ksh 25 million has been specifically allocated for pre-feasibility studies, obtaining NEMA approvals, conducting Sustainable Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) reports, as well as facilitating feasibility assessments, marketing, branding, and the development of basic infrastructure within the park.
